The Clouds and Grounds (feel free to just post)

"Long ago, there was nothing. Nothing, that is, but for Gods. These Gods were named Nephilia, the Goddess of Air, Sephul, the God of Earth, Ellis, the Goddess of Water and Nase, the God of Fire. These Gods played in The Nothing for what could have been moments, or what could have been thousands of years before becoming bored. When they became bored, they began creating the things we know today, such as The Clouds, The Grounds, our dragon friends and our elven neighbors.
When they first created this, there was no such thing has this organization of people and class that we have today, as they did not intend for our world to have those things. Instead, there was chaos. The Gods, of course as intended, did not but watch as The Lands and beings they created formed themselves into groups and began to create things like language and property. The first of all was established race. They divided themselves up into eight types of people.
First were the Creators, imortal. These beings were human in appearance, but their blood harnessed a special power, the power to turn into anything they wished it could, of course limited by imagination and how much blood one had in their body. Many Creators made weapons and means of transportation by their blood, and their society quickly formed into something magnificent. Finding residence in the deserts of Khi'liwst on The Grounds, their houses were like bee hives and many of their trade centers were below grounds, connected by tunnels just like the roads above, but much cooler and water-plentiful. It is said that entire cities were made below next to secret, underground lakes and rivers, but still many dwelled above ground and made peace with their sandy homes by wearing long cloaks and scarves around their heads, hiding everything save their usually olive shaped eyes and tanned skin.
The next were Erasors, also immortal. They were much like the Creators but, instead of their own blood that could be used for whatever they pleased, they were born with a Partner, either a creature or human who could not weave their own blood, but their blood could be weaved by one other. The Creators lived in an area on the Grounds filled with rain forests and a variety of exciting beasts, which they often used for meals in their famous parties. They slept on hammocks and made homes inside trees, some so wide they could host entire market places. Their language and appearance were very similar to the Erasors on the most part, but their culture and clothing could not have been more different. While the Erasors were a quiet and calm people, the Creators could, say legend, sometimes be heard from The Clouds on their most fabulous of parties, and were always yelling and chanting something new. They wore not much above their wastes, either, maybe a piece of fabric on the women's breasts but nothing else. However, because of the thick rain forest vegetation on ground level, they wore long pants and thick shoes, renowned for their fine craft.
After that were humans. Though humans were mortal, they were master craftsmen, amazing hunters and furious warriors. The only beings that could beat them with a bow were elves, and even some could be found with magic running through their veins. The humans made cities on beaches. Large cities with magnificent structures and castles. They road beings called horses and trained the wolves of the forest to be their companions in life and battle. The humans, also, were well known for their skills in government and language, taking care of their own and learning the speakings of others. Many humans had large round eyes, blue or green eyes and blonde or brown hair, accentuated by magnificently crafted jewelry and, on those who devoted their lives to fighting, amazing armor. They were fantastic farmers and loved to share their secrets with those with them on The Grounds, especially with their neighbors to the West, the elves.
The elves were the fourth race on The Grounds, and a mysterious people. They held magic unlike any other, and many kept to themselves in their forests called N'geil and E'stem. They were scholars who, as it's told, had library upon library in their capitol cities, whose locations still remain a mystery to this day. The elves were delicate with a bow and awesome with a sword, and each and every one was elegant, beautiful, and immortal. In the legends, elves were the first ones to befriend the dragons on The Cloud, Martis, and also the first to find a bridge between here and The Grounds. Elves were those with the most beautiful slanted eyes and sharp cheek bones to match their graceful fingers and unwavering feet. They were always garbed magnificent robes, sown finely by master threadsmiths.
Finally, the last of the races on The Grounds, were the Gypsies. The Gypsies, are their name entails, were a group of nomad people who had no true place of residence. What the Gypsies were most famous for were their trinkets. It seemed as if they'd invented trinkets that could make life more convenient daily, and constantly sold them to whatever city they found themselves drifting to next. They held no magic, nor could their blood bend at their will, but they made contraptions that could fly and bracelets that could tell time. Somehow, though nobody knew how they could make such things with no official place of residence, they were a never ending source of creativity and ingenuity, their smartness peering out through their sparkling brown eyes sometimes hidden underneath light brown hair or veils draped in beads. Most of the time one could see the Gypsies were close by one of their five "floating cities," or trade markets built atop a flying machine as big as Kempis, the humans fifth largest city, with a population of almost 100,000 people.
And now we reach The Clouds. The first, Martis, which I've already sort of told about. Martis is the home of the Dragons and the Great Beasts. It is said that the amazing creatures over their are demigods and hold special relations with our Gods and Goddesses. Those that are not dragons are beings just like wolves or horses, but giant and extremely intelligent, both spiritually and the traditional sense of the word. Out of all of the beings in our lands, they are the most reclusive, even more so than the elves. The Cloud, Martis, always seems to be drifting much farther away, towards The Nothing, than Hentas or Leban, and they reveal close to nothing about their customs or culture.
It is said, though, that here in Leban, our Partners are distant descendants of the dragons and Great Beasts. In our stories, it says that, once, the people of Leban were once humans that had never found their way to The Grounds. Then, a girl called Lehmehine fell from this cloud and began plummeting toward the earth. Seeing this, a Great Beast flew after her, afraid for her life and not wishing to see the death of a little girl. When he caught her, the impact was so great that their souls connected and they forever became friends, and every descendent after that was born with a longer life and a Partner, a talking and thinking beast that would be their friend in this life and the next, though maybe a little smaller and less magical than those on Martis. And so was created the culture and people of Leban, a place of palaces and glass streets, all in white with people of many variety in the shades of their hair, though most common were pink, blue and green.
And then, one day, a man was born with a Partner not but the size of his arm, though just as smart and loving. The whole nation was perplexed by this, and many were scared that this was to be the outcome of all of their offspring. Confused and afraid, the man decided to become a hermit on the cloud Hentas, and, when the news spread of this man, he was followed by almost an entire generation of Leban dwellers that were born with different Partners and had kept themselves hidden at the far reaches of the cloud for decades. After each and every one of the strange new people had left Leban, not a single one more was born as such on Leban, though the persons of the Hentas thrived and cultivated, their living turning into a giant metropolitan area with bright colors and fantastic festivals for activities native to Hentas such as fire throwing and Parkour," the monk, Asmard, finished, heaving a great sigh of relief that the story had been told again, "and that's it, the story of how we all came to be."
Alice smiled and clapped, her Partner, Kigalis the wolf, shaking her head in appreciation. Though they had heard the story a million times, by this monk himself, it could never get old. Having never even visited some of the places Asmard spoke of, even being the only princess of the great civilization of Leban, she loved to listen to what he had to say, and especially loved pestering him for more information after the children he was teaching had left. It was the first time this group of new school-going youngsters had heard the story, and their eyes sparkled in delight.
"can we go to The Grounds!" one shouted, clapping in excitement.
"hmm... I'm afraid we cannot," replied the old monk, "as a war is abrewing around those parts and we'd be right not to be involved in it."
"what's war," inquired another, blinking with her big Purple eyes.
"your young mind should not worry about such a thing, now run along, class is over," he said, moving his hands across chest in a stern but gentle way as he always did when class was finished.
Alice, seeing that the old monk was tired, decided not to bother him for more stories today, and gave Asmard and gentle wave, a bow and off she went, into the city of L'meheline, the captiol city of Leban.
